    Description

Recently acquired comes this beautiful and hard-to-find rectangular platter in the "Wildflower" pattern.  The "Wildflower" pattern was manufactured by the Cambridge Glass Company of Cambridge, Ohio.  This pattern was made during the 1940's and 1950's.  This platter comes under the heading / category of Elegant Depression Glass.  This glassware was sold in better department stores and jewelry stores during the 1930's - 1950's.  It was not given away like its poor cousin - Depression Glass.  This particular platter measures 15 3/4 inches long from handle to handle.  If you don't include the handles, it measures 12 3/4 inches long.   The tray measures 11 inches wide.  It is indeed longer than the average plate / platter in any Elegant Depression Glass pattern.  This is a true platter and, as stated, not easy to find.  The condition is EXCELLENT with no chips, no cracks, no loss of pattern, no discoloration.  There is a scratch (for lack of a better word) on the plain round center measuring about 2 1/2 inches - it is shown in the next to last photo.  It is very light and not easy to see- it does not detract at all from this stunning piece and pattern.  Please see the photos, check my feedback, and ask any questions before making a purchase.  You will love this large rectangular platter!!
