GORHAM Aesthetic Sterling CAKE PLATE or Charger Applied Flower Leaves 21 oz

Description

A rare aesthetic sterling silver cake plate or charger by Gorham with an applied three dimensional flower (poppy?) and leaves.  Overall diameter 12"; interior diameter 5 7/8"; weight 21.30 troy oz.  Marked lion, anchor, G, sterling and M for date letter for 1880.  There are some black pitting spots (see pictures) some light scratches and there is one exposed "pin" or rivet on the left side of the flower which may be missing a piece of the application.  There are no dents or monograms.
