A Most Impressive & Ornate Table Top Service Piece Indeed!

Quite an ingenious idea for a simple small table top server as this indeed!
These antique servers act as a mini refrigerator!  Filling the lower bowl chamber
with ice chips just beneath the insert dish retains the food product
atop the dish at a cool temperature!
Beautiful etched floral designs to both sides of the lid, and exquisite
embossed paisley motifs to the trim and handles.  The interior base exhibits
a most beautiful  bird design ~ very rare indeed!!  This server is much
larger & weighs more by a pound over most common antique lidded butter dishes.
The glass dish insert is a replacement which fits perfectly within the original
inner round plate frame (see photos).  There are a couple of very small
and faint impressions to the dome lid, though not obvious unless viewed
closely, also several very small areas of pitting to the top of the lid.  Included
with this server is an antique silver plated master butter knife, a lovely compliment.
(The utensil holder can also accommodate a small spoon or fork as well).
Areas of light plate loss, scratches & scuffs due to use, storage and/or age.
Overall, this rare antique server
is considered
to be in excellent vintage condition for it's 150+ years old age!
