This listing is for a lovely early 19th Century Sterling Silver round sandwich or dessert tray/plate decorated with reticulated engraved leaf design encircling the border made by Sheperd & Boyd. The plate has a low pedestal platform base and is monogramed with a fancy 3-letter monogram "J R L" in the center. Marked with the trademark stamp for Sheperd & Boyd and "Sterling, 829" on base. The Sheperd & Boyd Company were Albany NY silversmiths in business from 1810-1830.
Measures 1 1/2" high and 9 3/4" in diameter. Weighs 369 grams.
This nice plate is in very good to excellent Estate condition with the only noted flaw being one slight ding in the undecorated area on the top. Other than this one small flaw, the silver reflects only minor signs of normal wear. Please view photos as part of description.
